Looking for any connections to my KENNISON/KINNISON line. My ancestors:
Davis b. abt 1804 and Mary (possibly TAYLOR) b. abt 1814
Their children were Sarah b. 1834, Ann 1837, Mary 1839, Caroline 1842,
Alverda 1844 and William 1848. All were born in VA (now WV) except for
Wm. born in MO.
Based on daughter Alverda's obit and other data obtained to date, Davis
and his family lived in Hampshire Co. VA (now WV) at least in the 1840's
near Romney. About 1846 they and other families (names not known) sailed
in Keel boats from Wheeling WV down the Ohio River and ended up in
Andrew Co. by Dec 1846 when Davis witnessed a Will of Henry Vowell
Copeland. Davis joined the Confederate Army and died sometime in the War
from disease in Old Bolton or Old Boston, TX. After his death, the widow
and young children moved to NE.
Alverda Kennison married John Jay Hart and Caroline married Wm. R.
Allen. I do not know who any of the other siblings married but sure
would like to. Daughters Sarah, Ann and Mary likely married in Andrew
Co. mid to late 1850's.
Any clues appreciated. I am more than willing to share what data I have.
Thanks,
Pat Gilbert
