Linda,

On the 1900 census, your Boling lady is "Fannie." She appears with Elijah Scott (born Oct 1845), and the following children (all listed as SCOTT): Henry (Nov 1886), Charles E. (Mar 1888), Venia H (Aug 1891), Cora E (Oct 1894), Emmett B (Jan 1896), Silas M (Feb 1898).

Elijah SCOTT's first wife was Emma SHOEMAKER who died 1889. She was the daughter of Oliver Woodcock's widow, Elizabeth ROGERS, and her second husband, Daniel SHEWMAKER.

I assume you know that Oliver WOODCOCK was Allen WOODCOCK's father. There is some connection to Cephus WOODCOCK, though, as Oliver was living with Cephus on the 1850 census.

Though Venia (three paragraphs above) is listed as a SCOTT, I wonder if she might be a WOODCOCK, daughter of Allen and Fannie? I don't have any record of a second wife (before Fannie) for Elijah, though there could have been one.

Also, could you tell me more about Jesse BOLING, father of Zachary Taylor and (as you say) Mary Ann (Mrs. Benj. Thornton)? Did he have other children by his first wife? Do you have a complete list of his children? How about his dates and those of his wives? I think I just have three children for him, all by Dorinda, to my knowledge.

(I like to converse via the MOANDREW list, in case there are others who are interested. I do deviate from this if the information turns personal in any way.)
