Generation No. 1

1. JOHN F.1 OSBORN was born August 17, 1795 in VA., and died April 26,
1877 in Andrew Co. Mo. Long Branch Cemetery. He married MARGARET
SKEEN September 25, 1820 in Xenia, Greene Co. Oh.. She was born
November 08, 1800 in VA., and died January 19, 1868 in Andrew Co. Mo.
Long Branch Cemetery.
Notes for JOHN F. OSBORN:
John and Margaret stayed in Greene Co.Oh. after their marriage in 1820
by Lemuel Cotrill U Dep.They were still in that County in the 1830
census, living in the Sugar Creek Twp. Page 233. also the 1840 census
Page 212. All ten of their children were born in Ohio. The information
on this family came from John Osborn's Bible dated Aug.21,1842 Bought
of Cowdy & Ewing, Hercia,Greene Co. Ohio. About 1848 they moved to
Missouri, they made their journey in a covered wagon , crossing the
Mississippi River at Hannibah,Mo. the day Zachary Taylor was elected
president. They lived for a short time in St.Joseph, Buchanan Co.Mo.
then moved to a farm in the Lake Contrary area. About 1853 they moved to

Andrew County Mo. The 1860 census listed them in Rochester Twp. Page
64. they lived there until they died. Most of their children came
with them to Missouri, two daughters had married before they left . One
daughter ,Sarah married Okey Quick in Ohio,Sep.18,1846 , no record was
found that they came to Mo. ,they were in Virginia, Cass Co. IL. in the
1870 & 1880 census. The other daughter, Phebe, married Hugh William
Pilcher Mar.13,1845 in Greene Co.Oh. Their daughter Mary Emily was
born in Oh., they moved to Mo. before the 1850 census was taken. 1870
census, Rochester Twp. , After Margaret died , son Andrew and his
family lived with John until he died.
