Ginny and List members:
I posted yesterday looking for marriage of Rosetta Fisher (have a response
that shows she married Henry Luce) and since have had a couple of responses.
Ginny- I too have multiple Billmire lines as well as some connection to
Fishers.
My great grandmother was Rosanna Billmire who married Alexander Stuart. His
mother was Rachel who married John Stuart. After John's death she married a
George Fisher who died two years later. All this in Paarke Co, IN.
Alexander and Rosanna moved to IA and then to Gentry Co, MO where they both
later died. Rachel Stuart Fisher moved with them and can be found in 1860,
1870 census records with them but not 1880. (another issue). George Fisher
apparently had a grandson George Fisher who married Mary Billmire, Rosanna's
sister. They were both the dtrs. of John Billmire and Rosanna Myers.
Alexander Stuart and Rosanna Billmire besides parenting my grandmother Ida
Stuart who married Lewis Russell, had John W. Stuart who married Mary
Elizabeth Brooke who was the dtr. of your Margaret Fisher and Benjamin
Brooke.
I would love to connect that Margaret Fisher to George Fisher.
Also, I do have in my data base Noah Billmire and Elizabeth Brooke as well as
Harrison Billmire and his marriage to Mary Ellen Brooke. Is Mary Ellen the
sister of Benjamin and Elizabeth?
As you can see, my sister and I have done a lot of research on this and were
in Gentry Co on Mon and Tues of this week. I am planning on sending to the
library there some material on the Stuart family. I am finding it
fascinating how all these families are related.
Anyone out there have more to add?
