The BLM/GLO land records search is back! If you have used this site before,
I am certain you are doing the 'happy dance' now. If you have not tried
this research tool to track your ancestors, you are missing out.

A few notes about the site: the first page asks for your zip code - after
you enter that you will be redirected to an introduction page - (hint - do not
click on the hyperlink for beginning genealogists to search the land
records, it will send you to other resources like rootsweb.) At the bottom of the
page - click on "Search Land Patents" - - this will redirect to the search
page.
The "basic" is a quick way to find records when you know the first & last
name plus the state. The "standard" search allows options to get all of the
records for an area - just enter the info without any name.
Happy Hunting!
