Hi, Kathie,
I'm assuming that you know that Robert Shaw, the executor, and purchaser of
the Family Bible, was a son-in-law of James H. Mitchell? I wasn't sure if
you had that information, but he was married to James's daughter, Barbara.
Their children (that I know of) were Charles M. (last seen by me in the 1880
census); Adelia Ellen (who married David Wilkerson, lived in Andrew Co., and
is buried in Savannah, Sec. 3); Mary or Millie Lavesta (married John
Brightman, is buried in Savannah, Sec 3); William (last I heard was he "may
go to Kansas" in 1886; Susan (nothing known about her but on the 1870
census); and Emma Jane (married Edward Duval, buried Savannah Sec 8). I
don't know if that might help you track down some relatives who might have
the Bible or not. If you want, I can list some of the grandchildren of
Barbara, too.
Monica
