Tandy L. HILL was my Great Grandfather. His son Everett was my Grandfather.
I was lucky enough to find someone via a posting a few years ago who
actually lived where Tandy lived and was able to find information locally
about him and graciously sent it on to me. I am indebted to her, and very
thankful for her kindness.

Now I'm going to try again to see if there is any other information about
Tandy, his siblings and his children. It seems that the more I learn about
my ancestors, the more I realize I don't yet know. I'll post separately
what I've learned about Tandy's two brothers, as this looks like it will
be plenty long without them.

Tandy was born 21 Dec 1834 in Albemarle Co., Virginia.
His parents were John HILL & Frances TATUM
They migrated from Virginia to Missouri shortly after Tandy was born.
(on 1835 census of Callaway Co., Missouri)
His siblings were: Tazwell B.b: 27 May 1837 d: 11 Dec 1925
Thomas B.b: 15 Apr 1840 d: ?

Tandy married first Susan I. VANZANDT 21 Oct 1858 in Audrain Co.,
Missouri.
She was born 24 Jun 1834 in Logan Co., Kentucky, and died 1 Jun
1884 in Audrain Co.

Their children were:Everett Tandyb: 11 Sep 1860; m: Lettie
STEVENS; d: 18 Jun 1937
Mattieb: 1864; m: G. W. VANLANDINGHAM
Effieb: 1866; m: J. PRATT
Susan Francesb: 5 Jul 1869; d: 10 Sep 1871
Sidneyb: 1873
Maeb: 1875; m: ? MOREHOUSE

Tandy married second Margaret RUTTER 1 Feb 1887 in Mexico, Audrain
Co., Missouri.
She was born 21 Sep 1853 in Pitsfield, Pike Co., Illinois and died
20 Mar 1938 in Mexico, Missouri.
(previously married to Hiram MORGAN)

They had one child:Clyde Lipscome b: 10 Nov 1893; m: Mary S. CANDY;
d: 25 Sep 1964

Tandy's occupation was carpenter and he worked for the city of Mexico
(Audrain Co.) as weighmaster for 15 years. His home was at 309 W.
Promenade St., Mexico, Missouri. He died there at the age of 84 on 6 Apr
1919.
