Judging by the headstone the J.E. in the marriage record is John E.
Truelove. Nope, not joking, my computer is working for a change so I am
rushing to get copies of the original items I promised my cousin Barb onto
my computer. I will ask her if she knows Mary's maiden name and if John was
a nickname or her given name. Barb's Mom (my Aunt Lucille) was 23 when Mary
Thompson died and well Barb is my Dad's age. :o) If she doesn't know our
Aunt Florence might remember.
These are not ready for prime time and in a temporary location but here are
the photos I took for Barb at Truelove Cemetery.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/temp/Truelove/trustones.htm
The double sided stone says:
John E. Wife of W.R. Thompson
Born Apr 24, 1854 - Died Apr. 9, 1900
------------------------
J.T. son of W.R. & J.E. Thompson
Born Feb 9, 1884 - Died Feb 11, 1906
(This is the James in the census record you mentioned and without looking I
bet he is the "Trudy" listed elsewhere on Barry)
Notice how some of the stones on that page are missing from Joan's
transcription but as the photos show they are there.
I checked the paper when my Grandpa & Fannie bought the farm (and cemetery)
from Mary in 1916 but it only lists her as Mary Thompson.
Check this out Bill
http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/temp/r-t/ForBarb.html yep, that is Fannie
Thompson.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
