HI Cheryl,

You are such a blessing to help out in this way. But, I am trying to find out any information about the indictment of 2 Baze men that were charged with the murder of Abel Black that occured in either 1863 or 1864.

They were indicted in 1866 in Barry Co. Mo. I believe in Cassville. I would love to know anything you could find about them and about that murder. I believe they were my 3rd Gr. Grandmothers brother and nephew. She was Charity aka Charlotte Baze, Ross, Black, and she was married to Abel Black.

I believe my Gr.Gr.Grandfather John Alexander Ross (her son) was also charged but was acquitted.
If there would be any copies available or any info. I will glady reimburse you.

Thank You for what you are doing.
Debra

me...THANK GOD!!! To those who have need of help in Barry Co, I am once
again offering my help. I'm not doing so much of the cemetery tromp this
year, although I will be in the Cassville Cemetery (aka Oak Hill). I will
be haunting the Barry Co. courthouse as well as the probate records. I also
plan on hitting a number of local libraries: Joplin, Webb City, Barry Co,
Springfield. I may also be in Ottawa Co, OK cemetery hunting and I know
I'll be in the Miami library. I have a digital camera that I occasionally
remember how to use and if your needs are alongside my own, I will try to
get what you need. I will be gone from July 22 to Aug 5.
