Good Morning: I have some new photos for you this morning. Paul Peterson
recently bought an antique store in Santa Rosa, California, and in among the
inventory he found two Barry County photos. The photos are of C. C. Martin's
farm house. It was 700 acres on a bend in White River, called Turkey Bend.
Thanks, Paul, for sharing with us. If you can add information about C. C.
Martin, I'd appreciate it. Also can any of you tell me exactly where Turkey
Bend is?

Here is the good news for the day.

Jack Fly, Ted Roller and Jay Trace have been bird dogging a cemetery near
the McDowell Mill. This is some more of their excellent work that they are
doing for the BCG&HS. I doubt there are any stones that are left there - but
who knows - maybe they'll uncover something more in the fall when the
foliage is gone.

We have an obit in our collection for Mary Larkin, which reads she was
buried there. I am not sure about her maiden name, but see from the 1880
census that she was born in OH as was her husband Joseph. She had ten
children or so the obit reads.

I have posted a couple of photos of Jack Fly dosing for graves at McDowell.
This is a must see!

If you have more information about this cemetery or people who were buried
there, we want to hear from you. Jack located four graves but I believe that
they think there are more there.

Work continues on Seligman Cemetery. I am down to the last 200 or so now.
Progress has been slow but steady. Here is the link.
