Avery is in Hickory County MO according to the Missouri State map. It is
located on the very northern edge of Hickory County. Hickory County is
bordered on the north by Benton County.

Hickory County was formed on February 14, 1845 from parts of Polk and Benton
Counties.

Hello All,
I am new to researching in this part of Missouri and would appreciate
some help with geography.
I am attempting to help a cousin with her husband's Breshears family. I
have found lots of interesting information, but have run into a discrepancy.
Can some tell me if Avery is located in Benton County, or is it in Hickory
County? I have found it both ways. The county locator I use shows that it
is in Benton. Was there two places called Avery? Did the county lines
change or is this just an error on the part of a researcher?
