I would like a copy of that court document if you would share it with me. I am a descendant of Lewis Bledsoe and Christopher Elmore. One other person says that he died along the way to Texas. I have a copy of a page from a book about Missouri that says he was buried where a dam was later built.

Does anyone know what happened to his wife? I don't think she arrived in Texas. In the 1850 census, Lucinda Jane, James, Lewis, and William are together in Lamar County.
