MRS. CAROLINE SCHWEIZER
Mrs. Caroline Schweizer was born July 3, 1821 in Wurtemberg, Germany and came to American in 1848 with her first husband, Mr. Richt and their son, Paul. Mr. Richt died and she was married to John Schweizer, who died at Laflin in April 1893. Mrs. Schweizer lived in the neighborhood of Laflin for many years until she moved to the home of Alois Anger at Leopold, Missouri in 1911, where she departed this life, July 1, 1913, aged 92 years less 2 days. She was a member of the Catholic Church at Leopold. The funeral services were held at Leopold, Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock, Rev. J. Bonkamp conducting the solemn ceremonies. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery at Leopold. Mrs. Schweizer leaves a son, Paul Richt, and three grandchildren: Jacob Richt and Mrs. John Nenninger, son and daughter of Paul Richt, and Thomas Boylan, son of her deceased daughter, together with a large number of friends.
JOHN SCHWEITZER
John Schweitzer (Sweitzer) (Schweizer) died at his home one mile from this place Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock of heart disease. He had been confined to his bed for some time and experienced a painful illness. He was 68 years of age. He was buried this morning at Laflin. He was an old and respected citizen of this county and community and everyone regrets to hear of his death.
Marble Hill Press, Marble Hill, MO, May 4, 1893
NOTE: I believe he was probably buried on his farm, as I am unaware of a church or community cemetery existing in Laflin proper.
