My great-grandmother had this obituary clipped from the Albany newspaper
dated January 5, 1933.
Bina Olive Kerns Petty was born October 2, 1881, and died December 20,
1932 at 5:30 o'clock, at St. Joseph, of pneumonia, at the age of 51 years,
2 months and 20 days. She was a home-loving wife and mother, a good neighbor
and friend to everyone. She was never very strong and had been in failing
health for some time. She professed Christ as her all in all when young
in life and had always lived a faithful Christian. She was married to Charles

of Stanberry; Stella M. Helms, of Van Nuys, Calif.; Vergie England, of
Red Oak, Iowa; Roy E., of Albany; Chester H., of Denver, and Jessie F.,
of Albany. Others left to mourn her death are 12 grandchildren, her aged
mother, Mrs. Josephine Kerns, and her brothers and sisters, Mrs. Alice
Lovitt, Mrs. Cora Hensley, Mrs. Minnie Burns, Charles and Earl Kerns, Mrs.
Mary Swartz, Mrs. Jennie Nichols, Mrs. Dora Stephenson. Her father and
a brother preceded her in death.
