I checked the History of Buchanan book with not luck. I found a family
in Kansas on the 1880 census. It appears this Amos was born in PA and
Harriet in IN with both their parent being from PA. I think this Harriet
is Harriet Ann because of another database I saw on Ancestry. It is the
only Amos I saw on the 1880 census index that would be close on the
dates. Sorry not much help.
