Marta, I am looking for a John Earley born around 1815 in MO. John age 35 and his wife Martha age 22 born around 1828 in IL first appeared on the TX census in 1850. I found a John Earley on the 1840 Census for Buchanan Co Nodaway Township. My family claims he came to TX laying the railroad. Stories told how good he was at hueing cross ties for the railway and that he was so strong he could carry them on his shoulders. He settled in Milam TX, located on the border of TX and LA. The Earley family had family links to Thompson, Curry, Coker, McElroy, Tekell, Beezley, et. The spelling of Earley varies in the census. Do you know of a link to MO for John Earley/Early?
