It appears by your online info that Blaine G. died in 1961. This means he would have been required to apply for a social security number. As a family member, you can get a copy of the application for such. It will list, among other things, his place of residence at the time of application, place and date of birth, parents name regardless of living or dead including mothers maiden name.
It is called an SS-5. I think it now cost $27 and will take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to get, depending on how lucky you are. It should be more reliable than the census as the individual probably fills it out him/herself as opposed to the census where the enumerator can only go with the info given by the person home at the time.
The Social Security Admin. are the folks who can help you. I think Ancestry and rootsweb have the request forms online as well.
