I'm not sure how much this information will help you, but Frank/Francis
Lajoie was the Administrator de bonis non for the estate of my ggg-grandfather,
Spottswood P. Palmer. The estate was probated from February 1863 through sometime
in 1866. He also provide security for the estate. He also helped to appraise
the value of the estate.
It is specifically noted in the probate records that Frank was not in any way
related to Spottswood, nor did he have any claim to any portion of the estate.
Francis also provided security in the estate of Lucretia Palmer, daughter of
Spottswood. Lucretia died prior to October 1866.
As a side note, Spottswood purchased land from "Louis Lajois." This may
connect to your line.
N W quarter of N E quarter of Sec 2 in township 57 of Range 36 -- title by
deed from Louis Lajois & wife dated Apl 19th 1853
State of Missouri to Patent to Spottswood Palmer deceased Deed from John C.
G. Rousey & Wife to Spottswood Palmer Deed from P. J. Mass & Wife to Spottswood
Palmer Deed from Levis Lajoie & Wife to Spottswood Palmer Deed from George
Woolley to Spottswood Palmer
I don't know of any of this information will benefit you, but it will point
to certain Lajoie's who were residing in the Buchanan County area between
1863-1866. I have no further information, but have transcribed the probate records
in question, so if you want copies of those, I can send them to you privately.
