I live in Oklahoma so can't look at the packets. when I made a trip to
Buchanan I was able to look at these packets and discovered who was my
ggreatgrandfather. Also told of land, this was a will and an inventory.
According to the book these are Probate records. Maybe if you contact Buchanan
Historical Society or Buchanan Genealogy Society they could help.

These are the Buchanan Co. Missouri Probate Index begins in the year 1839 and
ceases about 1912. Almost all of the cases are to be found at the Genealogy
Library, 719 Francis Street. also known as a research center. This
information was in 1985 So hope the information is still valid.
