Hello,
I just received the SSN application for Lawrence Tromley, born January
26, 1906 in Poplar Bluffs. His parents are listed as Lawrence Albert
Tromly and Mary J. (or I.?) Goodyear.

I know the father was born in IL and probably moved to Missouri in the
early 1900s. I don't know if the parents married in IL or MO (or
elsewhere). By the 1930s the family both Lawrence's were in Montana.

Are birth certificates available at the local level? Can anyone provide
suggestions on how to proceed further within Butler Co.? I am new to
this area.
