The following is some of the information I've found for L. J. "Jack" Roach:
Descendants of Littleberry J. Roach
Generation No. 1
1. LITTLEBERRY J.2 ROACH (?1) was born December 30, 1837 in near Linn
Creek, Missouri, and died January 27, 1886 in Camden County, Missouri. He married
FRANCIS M. CRAIN December 10, 1866, daughter of JAMES CRAIN and SUSAN ROBERTS.
She was born May 20, 1847 in Missouri, and died November 17, 1908 in Camden
County, Missouri.
Notes for LITTLEBERRY J. ROACH:
Goodspeed's History of Camden County states that Littleberry J. Roach died
January 29, 1886, the grave marker states January 27th. Good speed also
indicates that L. J. Roach died in office (Camden County Clerk) in January 1886.
William R. Roach was appointed to maintain the office for the balance of the
year. This William is obviously not William, the son of L. J. Roach, who would
have been only a few months past one year of age in 1886. William R. Roach
may have been one of the six siblings Goodspeed's states L. J. Roach had at the
time of his parent's death in 1841.
The town of Roach, Missouri was named in honor of Littleberry J. Roach. The
Post Office for Roach was established April 9, 1886 on the postal route
between Preston, Missouri and old Linn Creek, Missouri near a geographic area known
as Tillberry Ridge. The first Post Master was Alexander G. O'Bryan.
