I am the gggggrandaughter of John Short and Jane Cowan. I am interested in any information that you might have. I recently received the marriage certificate of their grandson, James Austin Short and Mary E. Linxwiler.
The Short Family Tree was don Jan. 15, 1952 by my Uncles James Nicholas Short, and Leslie Clayton Short.
They had John Short I born in IRELAND, 1786, died 1826, and Jane Cowan born 1790, NC and died in 1800??
Where is the Pleasant Hill Cemetery that you mentioned? Do you have any grave stone pictures? I haven't found any documentation yet from my cousins (Short's) to prove what I do have, but the information that you posted is pretty much the same, except for Mary (Polly) Short. I have her born 2 Dec 1808 NC, m. 3 Aug 1824 NC to Moses Abernathy.
I was told that there is a SHORT cemetery, but I have yet to find it. My Grandmother, Nancy Anna Elizabeth Rafferty Short and her husband, my grandfather, Linton Skillman Short are supposedly buried in Hillsboro, Ill.
