RITES HELD SATURDAY FOR LOUIS O. CRITES, 68

Last rites were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the "Dencke-Laird Funeral Home in Jackson for Louis O. Crites, 68 year old, who died suddenly Monday afternoon at 5:00 o'clock at the family home in Jackson. He had been treated for a heart condtion. Rev. M. B. Henley, pastor of the Oak Ridge-Daisy Methodist Churches conducted the services and burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery near Cape Girardeau with Masonic graveside rites.

Mr. Crites was born at Daisy on December 21, 1890. He was a son of the late David A. and Anna Hahs Crites. He married Miss Anna Crites on March 4, 1917. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Oak Ridge. Mr. Crites was in the mercantile business at Daisy from 1918 to 1923 when he moved to Cape Girardeau where he was employed at the shoe factory for 23 years. In 1948, he established the Crites Park and Eat Cafe on Highway 41 just east of Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Forrest B. Crites of San Pabla, California, four daughters, Miss Hania Crites of Kirkwood, Mrs. LaVinnie Kelso of Sarasota, Florida, Miss Karlene Crites of home and Mrs. Shirley Crites of Chicago, one brother, Frank....(photocopy cut off at this point)
