Neat thing about listservs eventually you get responses. Thank you Phyliss and Rena for your postings.

Alfred and Sally Stillions apparently initially claimed land in southern Greene County, James River Valley, close to the Patterson Cemetery. However, by 1840 they as well as friends and neighbhors, John and Martha Patterson Casebolt had moved into the upper Finley River valley in what is now eastern Christian County, south of Rogersville, north of Sparta.

Alfred Stillions Jr. had a farm in western Benton Township, T 27 n, R19W can't recall the section number.
His log house was enlarged and sided and I think is still standing on the property. There also is a small family cemetery. Alfred Jr's second wife was Unissa Emeline Miller, daughter of Thomas Jesse and Unice Miller. The senior Millers are buried in the Casebolt family cemetery. And family members say that one of Alfred Stillions Jr.s children or grandchildren is also buried in the Casebolt cemetery. Alfred Jr.s children stayed in eastern Christian County during the first half of the 20th century.

There is information about the Stillings family in Henry Lee's bio, published in Goodspeed's Reminiscent History of the Ozark Region and available on the Christian County genealogical website.

Finally, I have a question. A John Stallings appears in Greene County records in the 1830's. He and Thomas Casebolt either had a store or were peddling goods in the upper Finley river valley. I think but cannot document that John Stallings is a relative of Alfred Stillions Sr. Can anyone shed any light on Alfred Stillions Sr.'s brothers and sisters or on his cousins?

I have a more info gleaned from Census and other records, suspect that Rena's is more comprehensive.
