Wasn't that the original name of what is now Missouri State University? (most recently was Southwest Missouri State).

Do you have any record of a "Teachers Normal" school?

I have been told that my father, Austin C. Abbott, graduated from such a school. He was born in Sparta MO in 1874 if that is of any help.
