Take a look at 1920 ancestry image number 15 in Barry County, Mo. Ina is with her father and siblings at 12 years old. Next door may be a older brother. Chromo should be about 25 years old at this time.
On image page 17 there is a - spelled Bratton that may be a brother or cousin to your Chromo. I would write down all the extra Bratton or similar spelling names as you go, check out the neighborhood.
Your persons family may be in the area, but he may be working farm labor or another job somewhere else.
Jackson County, Kansas City, Missouri is going to take some time but knowing he is about 25 in 1920 will help. IF the person who did the index read the age correctly. They don't always. He may be listed as C.F. or F.C. or Franklin or Frank or Franklin C. or Frank C. Check out the surrounding counties of Barry.
There are a number of people in Barry Co, in the 1920s and 30s with this name, He could be related to all of them. You might want to open them all up and look at them. The index may not show him.
You may want to search under Ida Brattin or May Brattin in 1930. Think she would be about 23.
He may have been out the Missouri in 1920 and or 1930 too.
Sometimes in obits they write down as a place of birth a large town near where they lived, not really exactly where they were born.
