Gladstone is indeed in Clay County, but was not incorporated as such until 1952. Prior to that, this area was 2 small communities named Linden and Gashland. The area is listed as being a part of the Gallatin Township of Clay County. There is another community named Barry on the west boundary line between Clay and Platte counties. Barry County Missouri is located in southwest Missouri west of Springfield.
