I had a brother, who died at age 7 with tetnus and lockjaw, whose name was Henry Porter Green. My parents and grandparents are have all passed on. I am trying to find out where the name Porter came from. Do you recgonize any of these names? Willis Green, Henry R. Green, Martin Ball Green, Polly Mary Smart, Emily R Adair. I know that our Green family orginated in England and moved to Virginia and from there to Mississippi. I'm sure that my brother's name came from somewhere in the Green line.
