Notes for CHARITY DAY:
I have a note that I wrote while at the Filson Club in Louisville, Kentucky, apparently from an index or compiled records, which notes "Charity Day" in Lewis County, Kentucky--was this in relation to a will or probate?? When I was at Vanceburg, Lewis Co., I looked at all available county records, and saw no one named Day in the Lewis County Will Books prior to Evan H. Day in 1863. Did I miss something?

Afther Charity's death in 1816, David Morris married her sister, Maria.

Marriage Notes for DAVID MORRIS and CHARITY DAY:
Marriage license issued 1 July 1808, Mason Co., KY
David Morris and Charity Day were married 7 July 1808 by Robert Wilson, Presbyterian Minister (Mason County Returns of Ministers' Marriages)

Notes for MARIA DAY:
Her name is spelled "Maria" in the marriage record and in the 1870 census, but "Mariah" in the census for 1850 and again in 1860.

In 1817, Maria Day married David Morris, widower of her sister Charity. There were three issue by the first marriage. David and Maria had eight more children.

By 1850, the Morris family had moved to Clay County, Missouir and lived in or near the town of Liberty.

Davis and Mariah, the Morris children, and her brother Presley Day appear together in the 1850 census. By 1860, Mariah was widowed, but still living with her brother, Presley Day, and three of her adult children. Maria Morris shows up in the 1870 census with adult children and grandchildren living in her household. Although she died in 1881, I have not located her in the 1880 census.

She was aged "86 years" when she died in 1881.
