Hello Susan,
I suspect that you are referring to the Leonard Family Burial Ground also
known as the Ravenswood Cemetery.
Leonard Family Burial Ground
or
Ravenswood Cemetery
Township:
T-47-N
Range:
R-18-W
Section:
24
Area:
Northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of section in Palestine
Township, Cooper County, Missouri on the Ravenswood Farms; on Highway 5;
about fourteen miles south of Boonville.
History:
This cemetery is located in a wooded area; about a quarter mile from the
road; across the road to the west from the Ravenswood Mansion House. It is
near the site of Nathaniel Leonard's first home here and is generally
referred to as the "Old House Pasture".
Also in this cemetery is a plot where a number of slaves were buried; a few
of the graves have native stone markers with dates carved; or rather cut
into the stones.
This information was taken from the stones by Mr. Charles W. Leonard, owner
of the Ravenswood Farms and by a person wishing to remain unknown on May 4,
1967.

Subject: [MOCOOPER] Ravenswood
Does anyone know about a cemetery that is supposed to be across the
road from Ravenswood. I was through there the other day and noticed
all the land across from the house had been cleared, all the trees
were bulldozed and the land looked like it was going to be used for
planting. I could not see any grave stones and wondered where the
cemetery is supposed to be.
Thanks
Susan Martin
