Hi,
I think Michelle is right. The Local Happenings, August 20, 1897
I sent out should be 1896, not 1897. I wrote down the date in the
margin of the photocopy and must have thought I was in 1897 instead
of 1896. In addition to Michelle's astute deduction, I checked the
newspaper microfilm listing for the Dallas County library at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~modallas/newspapers.html
and used my calendar calculator to discover that the Reflex was
published on Thursday during that period. Aug. 20 1896 is a Thurs;
Aug. 20, 1897 is a Friday. So the URL for that page is changed to
http://www.rootsweb.com/~modallas/newsclips/Local_1896.html
(not 1897).
Oh, the article really does call her "Claude". Could be a typo or
a nickname, I don't know. That was interesting that the best man
and bride's maid at the one wedding soon got hitched themselves.
Thanks Michelle.
