I am looking again for information on Arenna/Irene Watts who was with Maclin and Nancy Southard on the 1860 Dallas Co MO Federal Census. Her age was given as 8. I thought at one time that she might have been the daughter of Maclin and Nancy's daughter, Susan who married a Rice. Census takers were notorious for spelling names wrong. Lately I have learned that the above Irene was supposed to be connected to the Watts of Watts Mill below Kansas City, but she wasn't a daughter. She had an illegitimate child on 27 Feb 1867 in Buffalo. She died at childbirth or soon after. Her son was adopted or raised by Andrew Jackson and Sarah Pernina Rinker. Rinker and Southwick are on the county assessor's list for 1867-68. The Rinker family may have went to KS as the son mentioned above was in Arkansas City, KS. His name was Edgar Wilkes Rinker.
