In Douglas county on September 5th, two men were killed, one a Mr. McLean, who is represented by the Ava Leader as a good citizen, was shot by his brother-in-law, a no account worthless fellow. The sheriff and posse started to arrest him and he refusing to surrender was shot and killed.
