J. S. Alsup, of Douglas county, stopped in town last night on his way to Thomasville, where he goes with his horses to train for the big race which comes off on the 30th of this month. The race is for a purse of $750, and as the steeds seem to be pretty evenly matched, fine sport is expected by the lovers of the turf.
