I noticed that you mentioned Catherine M. Phillips,
could this woman possibly have had Iowa (particularly
Lucas Co.) Connections???

The reason I ask, my gg gm was Caroline Phillips born &
raised in Iowa as best I can tell. She married our gg gf
John D. Johnson from Denmark in Lucas Co., Iowa. They had
two children there, then moved to Mitchell Co., KS before
coming to Douglas Co., MO. This couple had another 10
children in KS.

I have always believed that some of our Caroline's
relatives must have been in Douglas Co., MO for them to
have picked and moved to the area after having spent so
long in KS. But have never been able to find a connection.

I seriously believe our Caroline to have been actually a
Castlin, Castline, or Casterline child and that her Mother
may have been the PHILLIPS but have never been able to
prove this. Her Mother died in the early 1850s in Iowa and
I believe her and her siblings to have been raised in the
household of PHILLIPS uncle,his wife and children. Details
are very sketchy and of course, no one still alive
actually knows.

If you should know any connections of your Phillips to
Iowa, I would appreciate knowing.
