My mother was a teacher in a one room school, 1940.
"Frisco Heights", This was what she called a line school.
My understanding is, from what she told me:
A piece of land was set aside, which I guess would be called no mans land.
This could be used for schools, Phone lines, electric etc.
It was located not far from Robertville, Mo. close to the Meramac River.
Friesco Heights was where she received her elementary education, she than
drove to Gray Summit, Mo. There she caught the bus to attend High School in
Washington, Mo. A round trip of Fifty Miles..
She than received her teacher Cert, (Which I have) to teach school.
She only taught about two years before the school was closed.
I would love to hear from any one that may have known,
MARY KOPF. My mother.
