Patsy,

Delpha Adeline Mitchell, born Feb. 14, 1891 in MO. ( from my
father-in-law's B.C.),died Jan. 25, 1972 in Springfield, Mo. She is buried
at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. She married Abraham Allen (Abe) Fields (
buried in Union Cemetery in Independence Co. AR. under the name Allen
Abraham Fields) ,unknown when or where. (Not in Greene Co, MO nor
Independence Co. AR, both places they lived-I've checked them already).
Their first child was born June 18, 1910, place unknown.

According to the Funeral Home Record from Greenlawn, her parents names were
Robert Mitchell and Ella Lawyer. 1 brother, Marion Mitchell, West Plains,
MO. She was resident of Grand Acres Rest Home at time of death.

Her obit states 2 brothers, Marion and Hiram , both of West Plains, so I do
not know which is correct on no. of brothers surviving.

I have information on the Fields line back to Ky. 1700's, but the Mitchells
are a huge brick wall. I have posted surname queries, searched records in
Springfield ( I grew up there), contacted anyone who had Mitchells in SW MO.
I am at a complete loss. These are my husband's Grandparents. I knew Delpha
for a short time before her death.

Oh, and Mo. Archives have no record of her birth, and said the Co. might (
if I only knew what Co.).

I appreciate anything that might point me somewhere I may have over-looked.
I have done on-line searches in both AR and SW Mo.-numerous Counties and
keep coming up empty!
