I don't know if this helps or not. Cainsville is literlaly just a shadow of
its former self. More than one third of the town wis torn down or boarded
up. The Cainsville Cem. is on the site of the Cainsville (Cain?) Cem.
established by Peter Cain. Most of his family appears to be buried there.
The Church that stood at the site burnt or otherwise has been distroyed.
Since Cainsville and especially Peter's property and church seem to be on the
Harrison/Mercer County lines, I would suggest that you check both counties
for Cain relation. I will be going out to that area again this summer.

There is no cemetery in this area called the Cainsville Cemetery.......the
Cain cemetery (still called the Cain Cemetery) is in Mercer County east of
Cainsville on Route N; then south on County Route CC; it does not sit on the
county line. The church was removed after vandals did their damage; and it
was decided this was the best thing to do. According the the History of
Mercer County, "the road leading to the cemetery are land which was part of
the Peter Cain home place. However, some believe the old cemetery land first
belonged to William Chambers and that Mr. Cain was instrumental in making it
into a public burying place. It is believed that Mr. Cain donated the land
for the old Cemetery."
