For those of you that responded to Kathy Bowlin's inquiry about a month
ago about purchasing the 1930 census for Howard County, we have good
news...You may now add your name to the wait list to purchase this census from
S-K Publications!

They are estimating the number of orders needed to be 14 before they start
scanning. The cost is $20 per order. All who order will be sent a copy of
the census on CD. Additionally, a CD will be donated to the USGenWeb
Archives so the images will be placed on-line for free access for all
researchers.

Near the bottom of the page, you'll see a blue box that says "Wait List"
Click on the box and the wait list form will appear. Make sure you click
on the 1930 Census, complete the rest of the form and click "Submit" at
the bottom. They will notify us when they receive enough orders to start
scanning.

I know that some of you are on a fixed budget and $20 may be too much
for you. If you would like to contribute to getting this census on-line,
but can't afford the full amount for an order, let me know. We certainly
don't want to leave anyone out that would like to help with this project.

Because of your generous support, Howard County was the first county in
all of the USGenWeb Archives to have the complete set of census images
placed on-line for free access. Thanks again everyone (and especially Ted
Hitt). Let's be the first to get the 1930 on-line too!
