Dear List;
I'm in the process of reading, abstracting and transcribing
Barry Co., MO Marriage Book F, 1886-1890 with hopes of
putting these marriages in book form. The marriages can
be found at the Barry Co. Gen Web Site, I am adding addresses
of the Bride and Groom, Consent information and where the
ceremony took place.
Occasionally, one or both of the couple was from Jasper County,
here is one such case:

300Ulmer, Newton J, of Bonty, Jasper Co., MOImel, Bammie J, of
Carthage,
Jasper Co., MO;At Cassville.
Does anyone recognize Bonty? May be Bounty but I find neither.
Newton J, age 14 was in the home of Jacob H Ulmer in 1870, McDonald
Township, Jasper County and Jacob H was in Madison Co. in 1880.
In 1876, J. H. Ulmer owned land in Twp. 29 N, Rng 30 W which would
be Madison Township, west of Carthage.
No sign of Bonty or Bounty in that area per the 1876 atlas. It may have
been
the school or church community??
Imel surname is also suspect. There was an Imel in Madison Twp. in 1880.
Anyone know Bammie J?
Thanks,
Bill Landers
