With having the month and year of death, and with them being fairly recent,
try going to www.funeralnet.com and looking up funeral homes in Joplin, MO.
Write or call them asking if they handled the arrangements for the people
who passed away. If they did handle the arrangements, ask if they would send
you a copy of the Record of Funeral. This would give you a lot of
information, and it's possible that a copy of the obit would be included.

I've been getting funeral records for quite a few years, and they have
really helped. Sometimes, even giving the address and phone number of the
informant, so that I might try contacting them.
