Were there any TB Hospitals in and around Joplin, in the 1880's and 90's or a
place that local miners went. Are there still records of those patients
and where are they located. I'm still unable to find the reason William
Eckel(s) died in 1877 and where he is buried. If there were institutaions
for those with TB did they have their own cemeteries and where would those
be located and if so, is there a list of those interned in them. Any help
or suggestions would be appreciated. The family lived in Galena Twp., west of Joplin from
the mid 1870's until the early 1900's.
