Since you know when he died, go to www.funeralnet.com and look up funeral
homes for Joplin. Call or write to them asking if they handled the
arrangements, and if so, ask them to please send you a copy of the Record of
Funeral. Most funeral homes will do this and...in MOST cases, there is no
charge. If you write to them, enclose a SASE.
I've been getting copies of funeral records for YEARS, and they are much
more informative than obits, having LOTS more genealogical information.
Where do you think the obit information comes from....THE FUNERAL HOME. And,
since it is for 1969, there MIGHT even be phone numbers for survivors, so
that you could see where they were living at the time of death. You would
also find out who the pall bearers were.
