Yes, I am told that Eli is the son of Peyton and he did have a brother Andrew whom I have found in the 1870 Dallas Co., Mo. census. I am originally from Jefferson Co., Ill. which is where they came from. I have about 40 plus Jeff. Co. genealogy books if you need any look-ups on the family. It seems that Eli and Martha Ann (Scott) Bennett and family were on the move quite abit. I found them in 1860 Jeff. Co., 1870 Dallas Co., Mo. and 1880 Crawford Co., Ks. census, then I don't know what happened to them but I assume they died between the 1880 and 1900 census. DO YOU KNOW WHEN AND WHERE THEY DIED AND ARE BURIED?? I found their oldest son in Mo. in 1900 census but can't locate anything on the rest of the children. I'm not sure but I might have a little info. on Andrew's family in my files. I'll have to check tomorrow. I am trying to find info. on Eli and Martha Ann's family
because she is a sister to my husband's line of Scotts. Andrew's wife was also a Scott. I know who Martha Ann's parents and sibbling were (at least I think I and a few other researchers are correct) but I don't know who Mary (Scott) Bennett's parents and sibblings were. DO YOU?? I'd appreciate any info. you can share on Eli and Martha Ann and their children and I'll be happy to share what I have if your interested. I'd also be interested in Andrew and Mary and their family if you would share that with me. I will look in my folder and see if I have anything on them. In 1860 Jeff. Co., Ill. Eli Bennett and family are living next to Jeremiah Scott and family. They also left Jeff. Co. I think I have info. on them to if you want that. Everyone seems to think we know who Martha Ann's parents were but now that I see that Eli and Martha were living near Jeremiah Scott and family and they both left Jeff. Co. along with Andrew and his wife who was a Scott it makes me wonder!
now because families usually travelled together. I'll get into that file folder and see what I can come up with and get back to you. I'd be thrilled to receive anything you would care to share with me. Thanks for contacting me!!
