Joyce and Ron,
Honestly, I think the deletions are a problem Rootsweb isn't really aware of, or they don't know how to fix. I assume Ancestry has the same problem, but I don't use it myself.
I've enjoyed Rootsweb Message Boards for years and would like to continue, so I'll be going to their HELP function and reporting the problems I've been having. I really don't like to have to go there. : - (
I've been trying to get proof so it won't seem like I'm making stuff up about the past loses.
Ancestry for people who can afford it may or may not be worthwhile. It seems to me if Ancestry would spend less on flooding all sources with advertising, the people could get more reasonable memberships and they could offer a few actual freebies that don't require membership or registration to access. I'm not talking about free access to Rootsweb. Hopefully, it remains free.
Thank you for responding to my (out of place) comment. I'd gotten so disgusted that when I realized I'd written it in the wrong place, I sent it anyway! It was intended for the Abuse Other function available on each query.
If anyone would like to continue this thread, email me personally, because we probably shouldn't be commenting on the mailing list, we put the List Administrator in a position to have to decide allow or delete.
