Thanks Dan,
I will have to see if I can follow through on your suggestions. It is good to know there are possibilities to find more on this Graham family. We have been stuck for a very long time and it would be nice to have a break through now.
Happy New Year,

Martha: All older Jefferson county probate records are available in
file form at Jefferson College. The staff is easy to work with. Suggest
you check out Genforum.com and click onto Jefferson County, enter
"probate records" and a lot of information will come up. You can glean
through it for ideas on how to access the probate files. The idea of
searching land records is a good one. You can trace each tract at the
office of the Recorder of Deeds in Hillsboro. I myself have done this
and it is amazing what the old deeds will reveal. Note that the records
are for "deeds" so the land grants are not included. There is a great
index, both by grantor and by grantee; it is chronological of course,
under each letter of the alphabet. Also on Genforum, contact Allen
Huskey as he is quite an authority on Jefferson county and always seems
willing to help. Good luck! Dan

Hi Linda and Wendy,
I was wondering the same thing about Samuel Graham being the father of
George
GRAHAM. I know we talked about it being logical but never have found
proof.
Have either of you found any of the land records for the Grahams in
Jefferson
county? I know the Samuel Graham had an early land grant but have
never been
able to get copies of the original documents. Maybe if we find those
and then
follow the transaction for the land we can get some more clues.
Does anyone know if Samuel or George had a will that would give some
clues?
Were do we look for those documents in Missouri?
For the record my husband David is a direct descendant of George
Graham and
Margaret West too. Wendy is his 1st cousin.

Hi Wendy - Do we have definitive proof on that Samuel being George's
father? Last time we talked there was a lot of speculation, but noting
concrete.
For the list - I am also descended from George and Margaret (West)
Graham via their daughter Germima.

Surnames I am researching include SAMUEL GRAHAM, and his son GEORGE
GRAHAM and
wife MARGARET WEST. Their son ALFRED GRAHAM married GEMIMA KYLE,
daughter of
THOMAS and PRISCILLA ROQUES KYLE . PRISCILLA ROQUES is daughter of
JOHN ROQUES
and MARGUERITE BUDWELL. THOMAS KYLE'S parents are assumed to be
MATTHEW JOSEPH
KYLE and his presumed wife SARAH POLLY SMITH. Wendy Baumann
