According to the 1893 history, John was born in Yorkshire, Eng. in 1815, son of John and Betty (Phistlewate) Walton. In 1841 he married Esther Allen, dau. of John Allen. They were the parents of 4 children, three surviving at the time the history was written - John, Christopher and Wm. J.
Came to America in 1849 reaching New York March 15, 1849.
In the Waverly, MO cemetery book is listed:
Walton, Christopher 1845 - 1918
" Fannie 1848 - 1936
" Cynthia Ester d. Sep 2 1875 - 1y 1d
" Ester, wf. John d.18 Dec 1878 - 62y 9m 4d

On the 1860 census John was 18 and on the 1870 - 25??
The son that died would have been Alfred 13 on 1860 and Antoni 21 on the 1870. Very confusing.
In the Slater, MO cemetery are Walton, John E. b. 22 Sep 1842 - 31 Dec 1902 and Bettie A., his wife 2 Sep 1843 - 13 Apr 1910
