Subject: searching for Eckel family
Date: Sat, 29 Sep 2001 12:00:22 -0700
My Husband's family "Eckel" lived in Pineville prior to the mid 1930's, but
his dad was born in 1909 in Joplin, so sometime between moving to Kansas in
the mid 30's and 1909 they resided in Pineville at the fork of the Little
and Big Sugar Creek. Any info would be appreciated. My father in laws name
was Claude and he had two brothers Jesse and Roy. Their father was Albert
and we think the middle name was Wesley and last name Eckel. Their mother
was Ada (we think middle name was Gertrude) Rains Eckel from the Jane area
married in 1900, and we have found Info on them and located some cousins.
Albert's father we think was a William A. Eckel, but no dates, or wife's
name. The family story goes that Albert moved the family to Kansas so the
boys would not have to work in the mines. What Mines? Was Albert a miner?
Who were his siblings, when and where was he born. Son Albert was born in
1877 in Joplin if that helps with a time frame.
Thanks, Jaculin
