Obituary: Jefferson City Post-Tribune, Wednesday, Aug 1, 2001
Marcus John Mormann, 72, and Lucille Margaret Mormann, 69, both
of Olean, died July 28, 2001, in an automobile accident in Eugene. He was
born Oct. 17, 1928, in Mary's Home, a son of Conrad and Katherine Loethen
Mormann. She was born Nov. 24, 1931, in Mary's Home, a daughter of Andrew
and Anna Kempker Bax. Marcus Mormann and Lucille Margaret Bax were married
Oct. 27, 1951, in Mary's Home.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Mary's
Home, VFW Post 2442, Eldon, and F.O.E. Post 2693, Jefferson City. He was a
farmer and a veteran of the Korean War.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church and
previously was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Altar Sodality. A
homemaker, she was a cook for Cole R-5 School, Eugene, from 1986 to 1999.
Their survivors include two sons, Gary Mormann, Olean, and Larry
Mormann, Jefferson City, and five grandchildren.
His survivors also include two sisters, Lucille Rush, Mary's
Home, and Kathryn Kempker, Eugene, and two brothers, Wesley Mormann, Mary's
Home, and William Mormann, Belleville. Her survivors also include one
sister, Geneva Mormann, Mary's Home, and one brother, Elmer Bax, Jefferson
City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Snows
Catholic Church. The Rev. Clarence Wiederolt will officiate. Burial will
be in Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery, Mary's Home. Visitation will be from
2-8 p.m. today at the church, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are
suggested to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. Arrangements are under
the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
