I have always heard that there was a family, and I can't remember whether it
was Sheltons or Keeths, that were camping where Reelfoot Lake is now, when
the earthquake hit.

I am wondering if anybody has information on what family/ies were lost? Or
if this is just one of those tales passed down through the families?
